Redaction is visual, not forensic

The whiteout/redact feature in the PDF Editor draws an opaque block over the selected area of the exported file. This is suitable for everyday privacy needs but is not a certified forensic redaction method — the original content is not cryptographically destroyed. If you need legally defensible redaction (e.g. for litigation or regulatory disclosure), use a dedicated, audited redaction tool.

Compression and conversion accuracy

Compression, format conversion, and other transformations may change file size, image quality, or layout. Always review the output file before relying on or distributing it. We recommend keeping a backup of your original file until you've confirmed the result meets your needs.

PdfVane is built on open-source libraries including pdf.js, pdf-lib, and jsPDF. We are not affiliated with the maintainers of these projects.
